چکیده
Given the stressful experiences of parenting children with mental illness, researchers and health professionals must ensure that health-related quality life these vulnerable parents is measured sufficient validity reliability. This study examined psychometric properties SF-36 in illness. The data come from 99 whose were currently receiving services. correlated two-factor structure was replicated. Internal consistencies robust (α > 0.80) for all but three subscales (General Health, Vitality, Mental Health). Inter-subscale component correlations strong. Correlations parental psychopathology ranged r = −0.32 to −0.60 physical −0.39 −0.75 component. Parents clinically relevant had significantly worse scores. scores inversely associated number child diagnoses. showed evidence reliability as a measure illness may be used potential outcome evaluation family-centered approaches care within psychiatry. relatively small sample size this study, research should continue examine its more diverse samples caregivers.
